ASHLEY PEÑA is a VISUAL ARTIST based in BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.

Ashley Peña (b.2000) is an image-maker holding a mirror up to the complexities of Black diasporic existence, resistance, and identity, viewed through the lens of her Dominican-American heritage.

Peña seeks to empower and enable with her imagery, challenging Eurocentric standards of beauty and affirming the sacredness and beauty of Black and Brown lives. Engaging a broader audience, Peña hopes her work helps people rethink ways histories (and stories) are told in the world today.

Born & raised in Maryland, Peña has been in New York for the last seven years, receiving a BFA from New York University, Tisch School of The Arts in 2024. Select clients include Apple, Jordan, The New York Times, The New Yorker, New York Magazine, The Cut, Vogue US, GQ and Allure.
